I am writing to withdraw a review that I previously posted on 12 June 2024 concerning Macedone Legal and Rodney Hackett.

I acknowledge that the review should not have been published. I was not a client of Macedone Legal, and the review did not arise from any professional engagement with Mr Hackett or the firm.

The review was posted during a period of heightened personal frustration unrelated to any professional services, and I accept that publishing the review was a poorly considered response. It was inappropriate to use a professional review platform in that way.

I regret posting the review and apologise to Rodney Hackett and Macedone Legal for any inconvenience or distress it may have caused.

I do not stand by the review and request that it be treated as withdrawn.

This review has been made anonymously in fear of retribution and to forewarn those considering using the professional services of Macedone Legal - Rodney Hackett. Prior to engaging in the services of Rodney, we read all the glowing reviews and clearly had high expectations.
Rodney exhibited unprofessionalism, incompetence, and a total disregard for our needs. His communication skills were appalling, he seemed to be distracted and we had to constantly chase him up for updates on our case, and even then we did not obtain a clear response. Instead of providing sound legal advice, Rodney seemed more interested in ensuring his billable hours were up, and was prolonging the case unnecessarily. The fees were exorbitant considering the below standard service we received. We were pressured by Rodney at the end of our engagement to provide a favourable google review.
Overall, I would strongly advise anyone considering hiring Macedone Legal - Rodney Hackett. There are plenty of other solicitors in the Sutherland Shire who actually care about their clients and know what they're doing.

I was a remand inmate at Parklea when Legal Aid put me in contact with Amanda Pappas from Macedone Legal. She was very unhelpful with my case, dismissive of my situation, and was more concerned with organising payment through legal aid than with representing me. Each telephone call with her contained with "if legal aid will fund it I will ...." On one occasion I called her to ask how my matter was progressing and she told me to call my daughter because she had just given the same information to her. Recklessly unprofessional. I would tell anyone seeking to use this firm to check with anyone who has used them through legal aid first. I sacked Amanda and went with another law firm and was pleased with the results.
