Netlegal

We used Netlegal when buying out other parties in the property we jointly owned, following a recommendation from our broker. Initial impressions were fine, but the process dragged out considerably (took almost twice as long as indicated initially) costing one party substantially more than necessary in mortgage repayments. Tim was horrendously rude and aggressive, abusing me over the phone when I politely asked for clarification about a process (given I was receiving conflicting advice from him and my broker) and indicated that he did not need our business and would be happy to drop the process half way through in order to delay it further for us! I would not recommend his services to anyone.

NetLegal were recommended to me via my broker at the time. Everything seemed to run smoothly at the start, I came into the office to sign the paper work, paid my stamp duty and sat in waiting for the apartment to be built. About 3 months later I get a phone call from my real estate agent saying that there were changes to the the apartment, which NetLegal did not tell me about. Tried to call Emma, no response. Sent emails, not response. I finally get a hold of Tim (owner), wondering if Emma had quit or something. Nope, just on holidays or something of the sort. Tim gave me the required information and was helpful. Three weeks later I get a response from Emma regarding the changes, which I responded something along the lines of "that would have been great to have three weeks ago". I then get told from NetLegal that they have sacked me as a client...

SACKED AS A CLIENT...

To summarise, NetLegal are rubbish. They do not communicate to their clients, they do not communicate between themselves. You would want to be PAID to use them... My new Solicitor runs rings around them. For any firm looking to put NetLegal out of business, just start up shop in close proximity, you won't have to try to compete for business, they will self destruct on their own.

Do NOT use NetLegal for anything. You have been warned...

The service i received was very mediocre. There were communication gaps, errors in calculations, a lot of follow up was required, difficult to get a status update closer to settlement, even without informing added their service charges into the settlement figures and when asked the reason - tried to show that they were trying to save an extra bank cheque fee for me. Even after the payment was made, am still awaiting an invoice for their services. I wouldn't not recommend my friends to this solicitor firm.
